138 members voted on a resolution upgrading Palestinian's status to a non-member observer. Only nine members opposed the resolution, which included the United States and Israel. It is also reported that there were 41 abstentions.
The formation of a Palestinian State would reduce the Land of Israel to its 1967 borders, which would divide Jerusalem and make it almost impossible to defend its borders; in fact Israel would surly cease to exist has an independent country. This has been the goal of the Muslim world since the reformation of Israel in 1948.
What is meant by the statement that "America is safe?" The God Christians call Father is the protector of Israel, and the Archangel Michael is assigned to carry out the will of God concerning Israel.
God has said:
For thus says the Lord of hosts: "... to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. For surely I will shake My hand against them...
Zechariah 2:8b, 9a
Now the Lord had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Genesis 12:1-3
God, whom Christians call Father, has promised a blessing to the individual and to the nations that bless the nation of Israel. All good things come from God the Father, and are called blessings. Sending His Son Jesus Christ, to die for our sins is a blessing that is available all families who will call upon His name. An example of a curse from God would be the withholding of rain from a nation.
Make no mistake, throughout history any nation that God has used to judge the nation of Israel, has also been judged by God. He has allowed these nations to act within their desire to destroy Israel, and has judged them accordingly.
That which is written in chapters 38 and 39 of Ezekiel, clearly indicates that God alone is the protector of Israel.
I am thankful that the United States voted to stand along side of Israel, and that God will bless this nation for doing so.
