is actually celebrated through the Muslim world? Understanding that freedom is a foreign concept in Islam. There is no freedom of choice in Islam. Every aspect of the daily life of a Muslim is prescribed, summiting to the will of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad is paramount in the life of a Muslim. This concept is found in the Qur'an. It is called the "Doctrine of Living Obedience." This includes, but not limited to fasting, prayer (5 times a day, facing toward Mecca) and alms giving. Muslims are not permitted to celebrate any event that is not related to Islam and they are not permitted to befriend those who do not embrace Islam. The Qur'an is very specific on the treatment of those who are not Muslims, especially Christians.
YUSUFALI: It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path. Surah 33.036.
Most Christians are not aware of the decision that Allah and His Messenger has decreed for them.
PICKTHAL: Lo! those who disbelieve, among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters, will abide in fire of hell. They are the worst of created beings. Surah 098:006
YUSUFALI: Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers! Surah 3.151
Why is it permissible to murder Christians and non-believers? Allah and His Messenger have made the decision that you shall die for your non-belief.
SHAKIR: Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection. Surah 09:029
SHAKIR: When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. Surah 08:012
YUSUFALI: This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment. Surah 08.013
Why did Allah and His Messenger decree These things?
PICKTHAL: He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion, however much the idolaters may be averse. Surah 09.033
